Soil pH Testing in & Around Newark, DE, Doylestown & Blue Bell, PA

A soil sample will be taken from your lawn and tested at the Pennsylvania State University.

Your soil's pH level plays a role in nutrient availability and even your lawn's root development. Here at Delaware Valley Turf, we offer a soil pH testing service to determine the current pH level of your soil and help provide a solution if necessary. New customers of our lawn care program get a free soil test, whereby we will take a soil sample from your turf and send it to the Pennsylvania State University Soil Analytical Laboratory for testing. The test will tell us how acidic or alkaline the soil is, as well as the nutrient content of the soil. If the soil is acidic, we will apply a lime treatment to balance the soil pH. Our soil pH testing service is offered to properties in Newark, DE, Doylestown, Blue Bell, PA, and neighboring areas.

Every new customer of our lawn care program gets a soil pH test.

Our soil pH test is a free addition to our new lawn care program customers. When you sign up for our lawn care program, your soil will be tested first so we can understand its current health and determine what your lawn needs to flourish. This way, we can provide a more tailored approach when it comes to taking care of your turf.

Once the soil is tested, we will carry out the string of treatments that are included in your lawn care program, like lawn fertilization and weed control. Our professionals will make sure your lawn receives the proper care during the growing season given the information we will gather from the soil test.

Our lawn care program runs from March to November and involves treatments every 4 to 6 weeks.

What does our soil pH testing process look like?

Soil samples from a lawn in Newark, DE, with labels.

Our soil pH testing process involves taking a soil sample from your turf. Typically, we will take out samples from various areas of your lawn to get a more accurate analysis of the entire soil health. Then, the soil samples will be sent to the Pennsylvania State University Soil Analytical Laboratory to be tested and analyzed. The test will tell us the current pH level of the soil, which means we will be able to determine if the soil is too acidic or alkaline. Aside from the pH level of the soil, the analysis will also show us if the soil is deficient in any nutrients.

Your lawn will receive a lime treatment if necessary.

Depending on the results of the soil test, our team will apply a lime treatment on your lawn if necessary. Our team will apply pulverized lime on your lawn to balance acidic soil, bringing the pH back to optimal levels. This treatment is best applied in the fall, but it can be spread over your turf anytime between the spring and fall. We want to ensure your lawn is growing on healthy soil with a balanced pH level so more nutrients become available to it, and applying lime is the most efficient way to do that.
